Artisans of the XXI century ...

 

That is what we are, on a time of rushing, consumer products and production chains, we still feel great in our small craftwork workshop. There we can feel free to develop our ideas and make them real with our own hands. The pleasure of handwork and own creation is comparable to few things in our lives.

The swings of the life of two brothers in love with nature, traveling, the world and its peoples and, moreover, anything that flies took as straight to kite world. In no other place had we find so many friends, experiences and satisfaction both personal and professional.

Our passion for kites comes from long ago; we have flown all sorts of flying things since we can remember. Wind and whatever works with it is our natural medium. Let us introduce ourselves a bit.

Los Hermanos is a small company owned by Pedro and Esteban González, we are obviously brothers living in Xeresa, a small village in the Spanish east coast. We have flown most everything, designed, traveled, enjoyed and laughed together since children … and we still do! Each of us has his personal experiences and abilities …

 

 

Pedro, just got 50, has a background in computers but being in an office never was his way of living. Soon enough he becomes a scuba diving instructor and for some years devoted his time to diving and mountaineering.

But a kite festival changed his life forever, the Barcelona International kite festival. Ever since then kites has been his passion. In the daily work, he is in charge of everything computer related, the printing and management (accounting and that sort of ugly stuff…). With the kites, he is the one that makes the ideas into computer designs, knotting specialist he is in charge of all the bridling and puting toghether of our creatures.

Constant student, his latest obsession with machining has brought to life our new line of quad connectors, our 3D patterning workflow or this website to name a few.

He is a proficient pilot of most kite types including two and four-line kites, single liners, power kites, active kites and lately the Chinese eagles… He loves talking about kites, telling stories and sharing experiences. He is also a good magician!

 

Esteban,in his forties, also has a computer education, but this has never been his vocation. He always knew his life was flight-related and he has always been involved in it. Superb model airplane pilot, he has tremendous experience in the design and flight of that kind of ‘things’. He is responsible for us being so involved in kites. In the daily work, he is the ‘hands’ of the workshop.

Excellent craftsmen, all of our kites are sewn by him. Endless source for inspiration, his designs are a constant flow of new and fresh ideas. A fantastic pilot of all kinds of kites, but also slope soaring model airplanes, 3D planes, helicopters, indoor airplanes and an endless number of flying creatures, latelly obsessed with everything dron related. Our aerial images are his fault.

His open and communicative personality is well known and it is difficult to see him quiet. He always has an anecdote to tell, an idea, some advice …

 

The two of us have designed, flown and enjoyed all of our kites, the fruits of 25+ years of exclusive dedication to the kite world. So much together that today it is impossible to distinguish who designed what …

Craftsmen of the XXI century yes, but men of the same time. That is why we use the latest technologies, which together with our experience in many areas let us create unique pieces. Pieces that although made with modern tools, still have the taste of handwork and good craftsmanship on pieces made one by one with all the love and attention to detail that they deserve. All of our works, as technological as they might look, are made and cared by us, one by one, and that shows in the final product.

 

We feel particularly proud of our friends and kite makers that trust in our products. We have the privilege of collaborating with some of the biggest in the kite world and have some of the top kite designers working with us, people like Stephen Hoath or Stephen Veerstegh just to name two. It is the biggest compliment to us that other great designers and makers trust in our technical ability to use it in their products, thank you guys for your continued support.

Constant travelers, we spend a big part of our time flying our kites on kite festivals all over the world. We love making new friends and are honored having so many of them spread all over the world. If you see us in a kite field, come and say hello, we would love meeting you!
